The Company manufactures and trades sugar, malt, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as other sugar-based products and animal feeds. It is also involved the supply of seeds, breeding plants and animals, along with soil preparation to support crop and animal production activities. The Company is engaged in dairy and beef farming and milk manufacturing and the manufacturing of cardboard paper. Other activities include hotel and eating place operations, real estate trading and leasing, as well as fresh water supply for household and industrial usage.

- On Jan 12, 1980, the Prime Minister signed Decision approving the construction of Lam Son Sugar Factory (now the Lam Son Sugar Factory I).
- On Apr 28, 1986, the Prime Minister signed Decision on the establishment of Lam Son Sugar Factory.
- On Nov 02, 1986, construction of Lam Son Sugar Factory was completed and the factory went into production.
- On Jan 08, 1994, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Decision No. 14/NN-TCCB on renaming Lam Son Sugar Factory into Lam Son Sugar Company.
- In 199, the company was transformed into Lam Son Joint Sock Company following Decision No. 1133/QD-TTg dated Dec 06, 1999 of the Prime Minister.
- On Jan 01, 2000, the company officially operated as a joint stock company with initial charter capital of VND 150 billion.
- From Jan 09, 2008, the company's shares were officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
- By the end of 2010, its charter capital was adjusted to VND 400 billion via issuing additional shares.
- In 2011, its charter capital was adjusted to VND 500 billion via issuing bonus shares.
- In 2014, its charter capital was adjusted to VND 700 billion.
