Saigon Shipping Joint Stock Company (Saigonship) is a Vietnam-based company active in the marine transportation industry. The Company is engaged in marine, coastal and inland water transportation of dry cargo. It is also involved in the provision of trucking services, marine services and warehousing services with the operation of one container yard (CY) and two container freight stations (CFS). Other activities include office leasing and crew export.

History
- Sai Gon Shipping Joint Stock Company was established in 1981 as a state-owned enterprise under the Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Transportation.
- The enterprise was re-established in 1992 as a business entity with independence accounting system. Its main business activities were providing domestic and international sea transportation as well as acting as agent and broker for domestic and international shipping lines.
- In line with state-owned enterprises equitization in Vietnam since 1999, the Company was equitized in April 2004 and renamed to Saigon Shipping Joint Stock Company (SSC) under Sai Gon Transportation Mechanical Corporation. Its initial charter capital was VND 109 billion.
- In Sep 2006, charter capital was adjusted to VND 140 billion via issuing shares for strategic shareholders.
- In Sep 2009, charter capital was adjusted to VND 144,2 billion via issuing shares for paying dividend with the ratio of 3%.
- On Sep 30, 2010, the company was officially approved to list its shares on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (stock code: SGS, listing volume: 14.420.000 shares). The first trading date was on Dec 22, 2010.
